Facts about Serbian
The Serbian language is spoken by about twelve million people worldwide. It is particularly important in Serbia, but is also an official language in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia and parts of Croatia. This illustrates that the use of Serbian translations is not only necessary in the state of Serbia.
Due to the country's turbulent history, there are also an estimated 3.5 million Serbian-speaking people outside Serbia, in addition to the 12 million locals. Especially in the USA and Western Europe.
The three are basically different versions of the same language. There are also slight distinctions in the written language. Some people also speak of Serbo-Croatian or Croatian-Serbian.
Both the Latin alphabet and the Cyrillic alphabet are used. In everyday life, Latin letters are mostly used, while the Cyrillic script has been the official administrative language since 2006.
Altogether, an estimated 300,000 to 500,000 people with a Serbian background live in Germany. Germany is also one of Serbia's most important economic partners. This is also evident from the 400 companies with German capital in Serbia.
